What is the CDGN?
The CDGN is a genomics-focused network of public health laboratories including every jurisdiction in Australia, ensuring rapid translation of research findings into national practice and expertise across a diverse range of disciplines.
What does the CDGN do?
The CDGN supports the delivery of Australia’s National Microbial Genomics Framework through the implementation of key objectives outlined in the national implementation plan. The Network develops a workplan based on the objectives set out in the implementation plan and public health priorities defined by members. Under the CDGN committee structure, CDGN working groups are established that provide capacity and expertise to address specific initiatives to support delivery of the CDGN workplan.
CDGN Working Groups cover a broad range of work areas, including:
Pathogen or disease specific working groups to support harmonisation and development of national approaches.
Thematic working groups to provide guidance, develop position papers, support teaching and training, or establish communities of practice.
Time limited working groups to rapidly support emerging public health threats.
