Members of the Communicable Diseases Genomics Network are working together to develop protocols and processes that can support and enable interstate, multi-jurisdictional and national COVID-19 pathogen genomics and enhance surveillance activities across jurisdictions.
COVID-19 genomics
As the outbreak began to spread, so has the demand for SARS-CoV-2 pathogen genomics. Genomic sequencing has been utilised to understand the change and spread of SARS-CoV-2.
National COVID-19 activities
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 outbreak in Australia, CDGN laboratories and members have been heavily involved in the pandemic response across a range of activities.
Governance
The governance structure of the CDGN centers on collaboration, sharing of information and teaching and learning to ensure the aims are achieved.
